Vistario brings films, TV series, profiles and preferences together in a local-first desktop application while keeping on-device operation separate from the optional remote-sync path.
Vistario is in development and is not yet available for download. The source is private and publicly supported platforms will be defined before release.
What it offers
A personal catalogue with two distinct usage paths
Vistario keeps desktop as the primary experience. The Local profile prioritises autonomy and on-device data; the Remote path adds authenticated synchronisation without making cloud connectivity a requirement for everyone.

Films and TV series can be collected, reviewed and organised in one place with favourites, viewing status and title management.
Local profile
The catalogue can live on the device without requiring an account or a remote backend for everyday use.
Remote profile
The architecture provides a local SQLite cache, authentication and REST synchronisation for users who explicitly choose a remote profile.
Safe import and export
JSON is the official interchange format; preview, validation and backup protect the catalogue before merge or replacement operations.

Product architecture
Local-first desktop, optional synchronisation and replaceable providers
The application core separates persistence, synchronisation and external services. The local catalogue therefore remains usable without an account while remote profiles and providers can evolve without becoming mandatory product dependencies.
Local profile
Local persistence and JSON interchange keep the catalogue under user control while allowing explicit backup and transfer workflows.
Remote profile
A local SQLite cache works with REST APIs and authentication; backend health is checked before the remote path is enabled.
Isolated providers
Search, metadata and deep links are encapsulated behind a replaceable provider/plugin model rather than being hard-wired into the catalogue core.
JSON safety gate
Import and catalogue replacement pass through validation, preview and backup; Excel import is not part of the public product.
Control and transparency
Local and remote are distinct modes, not a cloud requirement
Vistario is designed to make it explicit when data stays on the device and when a feature requires authentication, synchronisation or access to an external provider.
Local without an account
The Local profile does not require an online account to organise the personal catalogue.
Remote by explicit choice
Authentication and APIs belong to the Remote path and are not imposed on the local experience.
Providers remain contained
Connections used for search, metadata or deep links are separated from the primary data model and can be replaced.
Future status stays explicit
Android, Fire TV and TV/Cinema mode remain evolution directions and are not presented as currently available platforms.
Product status
In development, private source and no public build
Desktop is the primary target. Catalogue, profiles, the JSON safety gate and provider architecture are part of the current work; public distribution, the platform matrix and later TV/mobile extensions have not been released.
